Quick guide to xBand actions

Guide

This guide is for xBand App v2.4.0 and Firmware v3.02.126 and later.

The guide focuses on features specific to using xBand in Morse mode. You will find other guides here.

Turn on

If xBand is off, press and hold both buttons at the same time until you feel an increasing vibration.

xBand response: An increasing vibration, if xBand has turned on.

Turn off

If xBand is on, press and hold both buttons at the same time until you feel a fading vibration.

xBand response: A fading vibration, if xBand is turning off.

Enter pairing mode

Press and hold both xBand buttons simultaneously until you feel two short vibrations indicating pairing mode. This will take about 8 seconds and  xBand will start (or restart) and vibrate, during the process.

xBand response: Two short vibrations repeated periodically.

Execute command

Press the Action button quickly two times. Performed after you have written a command on the Morse button to execute the command.

xBand response: If you have asked for information, xBand responds with the requested information. If you have executed a task, xBand responds with the letter: C (long, short, long, short) and executes the task. If xBand did not understand your command it responds with an error (eight short).

Cancel

Press the Action button quickly one time to skip an incoming message.

xBand response: Stops vibrating the current message.

xBand will also stop vibrating the current message if you initiate a new command.

Repeat

Press the Action button quickly three times.

xBand response: Repeats the last vibrated notification.

If you are currently writing, this will instead vibrate what you have written (see command Play back written characters).

Only available while writing

Play back written characters

Press the Action button quickly three times.

xBand response: xBand will vibrate what you have written.

If you are not currently writing (your input is empty), this will instead repeat the last vibrated notification (see the Repeat command).

Delete written characters

Keep holding down the Morse button after the normal vibration feedback has stopped. After this, each short vibration you feel will delete a character, and each long vibration will delete a space. Keep holding to delete more characters, and release the button when you’ve deleted the desired number. If you release in the middle of a vibration, that character or space won't be deleted.

If you don’t feel any more vibrations, you have cleared everything you have written.

xBand response: For every vibration pulse you feel before you release the button, one character or space is deleted from your current input.
